Bring the Mountains to You Over the Holidays

bring the mountains to you over the holidays

The secret to a happy holiday season lies in connection - with your loved ones, with yourself and with nature.

By this time next year, our cabin owners will have a brand new mountain escape designed to help them do just that. In the meantime, here are five ways to bring a bit of mountain relaxation into your festivities while you’re stuck in the city:

Light a Few Festive Candles

So you can’t make it to Oklahoma this year and that’s a bummer, but these incredible candles with notes of fir, pine and cedar will definitely put you in a mountain mood.

We love the smell of mountain air, even if it’s just from a candle.

Make our Favorite Festive Camp Dessert in the Oven

Who says you need a campfire to put a Christmasy spin on the Pioneer Woman’s Campfire Cones?! We swap out the regular chocolate for peppermint bark and wow is it delicious.

If you’re short on campfires in the city, roll these bad boys up as directed, and toss them in a 400˚ oven for about 10 minutes. You’re very, very welcome.

Get Outside

We all know that when it’s cold out and you’re stuck in the city, most of us would rather be inside with the heater cranked up. But, did you know that just 10 minutes in the cool air can actually make you happier? We didn’t either.

So bundle up the family for a trip to the park or meet a few friends for a game of football - just get out there and enjoy being outside!

Reindeer Games: Turn Off the Screens!

Don’t get us wrong, we love that we have strong cell service here in the mountains. But, being away from home gives us an easy excuse to turn off our devices and focus on each other.

Even if it’s just for one evening, pretend you're in the mountains.Turn off the devices and play some games! Board games, 20 questions, charades, pickleball - pick something you can all enjoy and just have fun together.

Self-Care for the Season

Everyone loves to unwind after a day in the woods by jumping in the hot tub with their favorite drink. Whether you’re alone or with friends,  relaxing under the stars just can’t be beat.

While we can’t bring the hot tub to you, we can remind you to find a little moment just for yourself. Whether that’s drawing a warm bath at the end of the day, or snuggling on the couch with your favorite person, finding that quiet moment of peace is what makes the holidays so special.

If you’re thinking you’d rather be doing these things in your own mountain cabin, now is the time to come see our community for yourself. By this time next year, you too can be snuggling up to your own fire with your loved ones.
