Why Timber Ridge Estates is Great For Hunters
Easy Access
At Timber Ridge Estates, we pride ourselves on being the perfect place for outdoor adventurers. Hunters are no exception and, in fact, we consider ourselves a haven for hunters of all ages and experience levels. With public hunting land right nearby, you have easy access to your sport all year round, while also enjoying the beauty of Southeastern Oklahoma.
Hunting Game Seasons
Southeastern Oklahoma offers a variety of game seasons as specified by the wildlife department. Seasons include big game (deer, elk, antelope, bear), turkey, migratory bird (dove, crow, woodcock, rail, snipe, gallinule), waterfowl (teal, goose varieties, sandhill crane), small game (squirrel, rabbit, beaver, nutria, raccoon, skunk, coyote, bobcat, badger, fox, mink, muskrat, opossum, river otter, weasel) and bird (quail, pheasant) hunting.
In some cases, specific weeks of each season are reserved for gun, muzzleloader and bow hunters. Additionally, a couple days are explicitly for youth hunting, a great opportunity for some family bonding.
Nearby Archery Park
Another great activity for the whole family is right near Timber Ridge Estates at Archery Park. Archery Park is a wonderful place for new or experienced bow hunters to practice their skills in a fun environment that provides several types of targets and challenges. To add to the experience, a 3-D archery range is coming soon!
Oklahoma Wildlife Department
We cannot stress enough that the Oklahoma Wildlife Department is truly THE resource for hunters of any experience and ability. Use the site to not only keep track of seasons, but to also learn about licensing and regulations. There is also a lot of great information on fishing including licensing, locations and regulations.
Finally, if you are ever in need of the proper clothing and equipment, we highly recommend HL’s Sport Shop in McAlester, OK for all of your hunting and fishing needs. While there you’ll find helpful staff and anything you need for a great day outdoors.
Happy hunting, friends, and stay safe out there!
